Black Gotham Experience

192 Front Street between John and Fulton Streets in Manhattan’s Seaport District

Our studio was initially made possible by a temporary artist residency in 2017 to Kamau Ware by Lower Manhattan Cultural Council with special support from The Howard Hughes Corporation. Our time has been extended due to our success to add an important dimension to the culture of the Seaport District, Lower Manhattan, and New York City. The BGX Studio transports Black Gotham Experience’s visual storytelling into an engaging, multifaceted space in the heart of the Seaport District.  View art from our graphic novel at a scale never before seen and go behind the scenes of how it’s created.  Join us for lively events like Nerdy Thursdays and TALK/BACK. Page through the books and archival materials that inspire our team, then bring home collectibles and fashion inspired by Black Gotham Experience.  Located at 192 Front Street, our studio is in the footprint of where the people and events central to Black Gotham Experience unfolded centuries ago. Come explore with us.
